Find your direction
Take stock of experience, strengths and ambitions. Explore where they meet a real customer need.
A six-month pathway for people ready to explore life beyond their corporate role, surrounded by founders, practical expertise and possibility.
SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE WAREHOUSES · LAVENDER BAY
People leaving a corporate role bring years of judgement, relationships and hard-won skills. With the right setting and practical support, that experience can become the foundation for something of their own.
Work inc is developing a six-month programme to help them explore an idea, test its commercial potential and make a considered next move.

Work inc is a creative coworking community in the heritage warehouses beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in North Sydney’s Lavender Bay.
Here, the working day happens around founders, independent businesses and people solving real commercial problems. The programme is designed to bring participants into that environment, with direct access to industry expertise and mentoring.

A practical sequence, with room to question assumptions, change direction and build confidence through doing.
Take stock of experience, strengths and ambitions. Explore where they meet a real customer need.
Talk to potential customers, understand the market and challenge the assumptions behind an idea.
Shape a clear proposition, pricing and a workable business model. Create the tools to explain and deliver it.
Practise selling and presenting. Build a digital presence and, where ready, test a first offer with customers.
Use feedback, costs and early evidence to improve the offer, rethink the model or explore another direction.
Bring the evidence together in a practical plan: launch, keep testing, pivot or pursue a different path.
Proposed programme structure. The final timetable and delivery format will be confirmed before enrolment.
Learn directly from real people with practical experience. Gain access to experts who can help you apply these skills to your own business.
Build confidence, resilience and the mindset to navigate the shift from employee to business owner.
Learn how to find customers, lead sales conversations and present your offer with confidence.
Put AI to practical use from day one, building tools and workflows around your business idea.
Understand cash flow, costs and pricing to assess whether your business idea is commercially viable.
Learn from people who have scaled businesses to build a website or online store that supports your offer.
Work through decisions, challenge assumptions and turn your ideas into a practical plan for the next stage.
Specialist sessions and mentoring are proposed elements of the programme. Contributors, availability and scope are still being confirmed.
Discover whether entrepreneurship is right for you in a place where you can explore, test and learn with support around you. Gain the expertise, guidance and clarity everyone deserves before taking the plunge, so you can start with a stronger foundation and give your business the best chance to succeed.
When roles change, employers have an opportunity to support the person beyond the role. Funding a place offers a practical pathway for people who want to explore enterprise as their next chapter.
Work inc is progressing the programme independently. We invite banks and employers to fund places for their people and help turn experience into new possibility.
