Experience has a future

A career change can be a beginning.

People leaving a corporate role bring years of judgement, relationships and hard-won skills. With the right setting and practical support, that experience can become the foundation for something of their own.

Work inc is developing a six-month programme to help them explore an idea, test its commercial potential and make a considered next move.

Where good ideas come to grow

Build in the company
of people building.

Work inc is a creative coworking community in the heritage warehouses beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in North Sydney’s Lavender Bay.

Here, the working day happens around founders, independent businesses and people solving real commercial problems. The programme is designed to bring participants into that environment, with direct access to industry expertise and mentoring.

The six-month journey

From “what next?”
to a considered next move.

A practical sequence, with room to question assumptions, change direction and build confidence through doing.

01

Find your direction

Take stock of experience, strengths and ambitions. Explore where they meet a real customer need.

02

Test the opportunity

Talk to potential customers, understand the market and challenge the assumptions behind an idea.

03

Build the offer

Shape a clear proposition, pricing and a workable business model. Create the tools to explain and deliver it.

04

Take it to market

Practise selling and presenting. Build a digital presence and, where ready, test a first offer with customers.

05

Learn and refine

Use feedback, costs and early evidence to improve the offer, rethink the model or explore another direction.

06

Choose your next move

Bring the evidence together in a practical plan: launch, keep testing, pivot or pursue a different path.

Proposed programme structure. The final timetable and delivery format will be confirmed before enrolment.

An invitation to banks & employers

Invest in what
comes next.

When roles change, employers have an opportunity to support the person beyond the role. Funding a place offers a practical pathway for people who want to explore enterprise as their next chapter.

Work inc is progressing the programme independently. We invite banks and employers to fund places for their people and help turn experience into new possibility.

Let’s shape the right support.

  • Explore who the programme could suit
  • Discuss the number of places to fund
  • Agree scope, delivery and funding arrangements
Discuss funded places
